1I’m from London UK and although not everywhere is accessible most places are and if they aren’t most do try to provide with ramps, etc. to get into the venues. I know that London hosted a very successful Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 so that has certainly helped push the accessibility in the minds of place’s owners

Hi, if you are talking about the main island, there are several options as mentioned. Last time I used Smile – https://renta.its-smile.co.jp/okinawa/fukushi
You should also try getting in touch with the barrier free travel desk as they can also likely help with any language challenges as well – https://barifuri-okinawa.org/wbfnao/
I went to Takaosan yesterday day and stopped for soba at one of the rest stops. Just I was thinking “gee this table is low…” a staff member brought over a tin box and asked “will putting this under the tray help?”
I love meeting people who are thoughtful and also creative.

I once visited a model rail road museum and the displays were too high for my wheelchair. A staff member came by and handed me a mirror they keep for “wheel friends” of the museum. I absolutely loved that!
