MemberIn Japan, there is a law for service dog acceptability and, by its definition, only a vision aid dog, a hearing aid dog and a physical support dog are the service dog. All other kinds of dogs are not recognized as service dog regardless of the foreign situation. Majority of hotels/transports/museums, etc follows this definition.

In Japan it is a bit more subdued and local. Lots of tv specials and you eat soba noodles.

I’m going to be moving to Japan with my service dog. I’m aware Japan only considers mobility/guide/hearing service dogs as legit service dogs. Mine is neither of those. My question is – is it possible to fly her in as a service dog but when we arrive to Japan, she can just be treated/accepted as a non-service dog? I’m fine with her not…
