My husband, who uses an electric wheelchair, and I are travelling to Japan this month. What is the best way to get from Narita airport to Nihonbashi in Tokyo. He has several meetings over the week and I need to find an accessible taxi or mode of transportation to get him back an forth on time. Is there an accessible train line? Any suggestions? Thank you.
6 CommentsTHERE IS A DIRECT TRAIN THAT IS ACCESSIBLE FROM NARITA TO NIHONBASHI.
Thank you Mark. Should we be booking these trains in advance? Do you use google maps for train travel or is there a better way to find accessible train lines?
@Lynn the train to Nihonbashi is Keisei Skyliner. It doesn’t show it on the English site for some reason, but on the Japanese site it shows the accessible seat and toilet: https://www.keisei.co.jp/keisei/tetudou/skyliner/jp/skyliner/design.php
@Marktweed did you book in advance?
As for other regular trains, over 96% of the stations in Tokyo are accessible. So, that isn’t an issue. I have lived in Tokyo for 18 years and use Google Maps/Apple Maps. Just note it will take a bit more time to get on the train or do a transfer than Google Maps states.

1We went to Japan last year(husband is in electric wheelchair) used trains to get about no problem at all also used Google maps which were brilliant.Plenty of help from station staff if needed.
1I had asked about accessible taxi (I’m too on a wheelchair) and I received also this answer:
We are wheelchair friendly Taxi, name is Asumi Transportation near Narita airport.
If you will move to or from Narita airport with big baggage, we could support.
Pls feel free to contact.
