MemberSeeking Info on Shower Chair and Toilet Safety Rails in Yokohama/Tokyo Area
Hi Justin. You may find hotels offer such things in rooms that cater for seniors/ handicapped. I have stayed at hotels like that in the US and Europe- am sure if you ask the hotels they can facilitate do no need to purchase/ rent.
Please post your findings here for all.

This is a bit worrying. I plan to use an electric mobility scooter in Japan- but to just fold it like a suitcase to take on the train- not get on trains using the scooter.
Thanks for the link and the “slope” translation.
Is there any Mobility-Scooters Rentals in Osaka?
I don’t know about Osaka because I only looked in Tokyo and Kyoto. Only found electric wheelchairs for rent.
So will be renting a scooter at home and bringing it with me.
Mobility scooter on trains and at shrines
Thank you. When I have chosen the scooter (trying to find something light but sturdy enough) I’ll update.
That elevator will be a great help- didn’t know about it. Was hoping for railings around the steps.
Mobility scooter on trains and at shrines
Grateful to have found this useful forum.
Will be visiting Japan with a foldable mobility scooter- folds up like a small suitcase and the battery can be removed.
Will I have problems taking it on bullet trains if I don’t need to sit/ drive it and can just fold it like a carry on?
When visiting places like Fushimi Inari will I be able to use…
