MemberI ended up using the train/cable car for the main part of my trip, but also the bus. The ramps into the bus where quite steep, but the drivers were all very kind.
While most buses don’t strap you in, you MUST in Hakone since the mountainous roads have lots of curves and ups and downs.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a website that lists current travel restrictions / openness of countries? Interested in knowing where people can go (or can’t!). Here in Japan we should be starting a “trial” of opening up…
The ropeway is also accessible. The carriages themselves have a few variations (liftable seats or just cram yourself in the aisle). There is a slight bump to get in, but no gap or height difference.
While the cable car station at Gora still has a steep, slanted ramp to get on, Sounsan Station has a flattened platform near the accessible seating and new elevators (before it required 3 station staff push you up a steep platform!)
