I reached out to a number of companies and it seems Azuma Taxi is the only one on the island with a van that has a ramp. They have tours etc of different lengths but they only operate until 5pm(!).
There apparently is one company that has the London Black Cab-esque JapanTaxi but it doesn’t run every day and you can only know by calling the same…
Ooohhh, so with I could go to this event!

1 CommentIt’s really great to see that accessibility is becoming such a big topic of conversation in the tourism industry in Australia that there’s more than one event making it the star of the day. We’ll have to keep doing our best to deliver better and better AITCAPs!
It sounds like the Department of Transportation is at least listening. Hopefully it will translate into action. (Especially toilets please!)

There’s definitely a need for the Aviation industry to address accessibility in a different way… They are consulting here in Australia, hopefully we can get the right messages across and finally see some change down the line.

Here, in the States, if they give your room to someone else, the hotel has to find you an accessible room in another hotel by law.

What!? She was walked from not 1 but 2 rooms?! and they couldn’t get her to a 3rd at another hotel? There had to be other options. If I was the manager I’d get someone to clean a room that would work, pay an able guest to go to that other hotel, or SOMETHING.
