Yes, it’s as @joshgrisdale said. If taxis saw me on the wheelchair, I barely got any of them to stop (actually none I think). I think that with the change in the new Japan entry regulations that take effect on the 7th September it should be possible, as now travel reservations still need to be done via a travel agency, but group and supervised tours are not mandatory anymore.

Thank you for the additional link @joshgrisdale ! In Jakarta, most apartment are accessible (as in no steps), so I thought it’s easier to get an apartment to stay rather than a hotel room.
