I started Accessible Japan in 2015 and was later contacted by Inside Japan Tours about training for their guides. Afterwards they started the tour I linked too. So, I believe they have really upped their game since then. But, contact both and see what works best for your situation.

I have never been and even finding Japanese information on accessibility is proving a bit difficult. The most I have is a place mentioning there is an accessible toilet and ramp, and that one of the private rental baths in “Yasuragi” was renovated to be accessible.

Hi Andy,

I know one or two people who brought something similar to the Batec but it seemed to cause more problems than help as you must remove it and carry it whenever you use public transportation. There are a few places that rent regular wheelchairs, so that might work out better.
