A lot of people with disabilities depend on government health insurance. Here, in the States, only the rich would be able to afford it.
A better solution would be to make the world more accessible. It should not be the responsibility of those needing access to provide it. It is the responsibility of the government, business owners, and property owners.

WAVs are a joke here in LA/OC. There are too few of them and they’re not always available. I don’t even bother with them. I use public and paratransit, instead.

I agree with Josh. This shouldn’t be used as an alternative to making things accessible.
Now, I do see it being helpful in historic places that can not be made accessible at all, like historic homes (like Elvis Presley’s home, Graceland, in Memphis, TN) or natural destinations where adding paved surfaces could hurt nature.
