MemberI’m looking forward to travelling to Japan early Thursday morning via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific. During my time in Japan I’ll be staying at quite a few hotels. So, I will definitely sharing my experiences. I’m also doing some planning when I go to Japan next March/April for the sakura season with my parents. Can’t wait to show them Japan !
I play in disablity golf tournaments internationally. Golf has become much more accessible. There are a lot of mobility aids available and there is a special wheelchair used for playing golf for wheelchair users called a Paragolfer.
Golf has given me my life back and a purpose to get out of bed each day.
If anyone is interested to find out…
I have travelled to Japan on my own quite a lot of times now. Also travelled within Japan a fair bit too. My suggestion is to ask for special assistance on trains to avoid getting off at the wrong station.
My mobility has certainly decreased since I first went to Japan.
However, I’ve never had a problem if I get lost at a station or if I go…
Hi Chica,
I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Osaka. The trains are great and can arrange special assistance if needed at the stations. Also, I’d highly recommend using Japan Taxis. They have an app where you can book taxis. Some hotels have shuttle buses from stations such as Osaka to their hotels.
I use my Disability Support Pension card when overseas. It seems to work fine in Japan.
