zipair
Please share your experience with Zip Air. I am a c5 quad, looking at California to Tokyo.
Pao2 CommentsIt would really have to be a big difference in cost to make it worthwhile, once you add on luggage/carry on fees, meals and possibly hotel (depending on departure time). We added it up and didn’t seem worth it.
I have never heard of this airline, but I agree with @Marktweed … it hardly seems worth the trouble!
Japan's personal care assistance
Are there agencies that provide personal care assistants (PCAs) for disabled visitors who need help with ADLs? I’m vacillating between bringing someone or hiring someone while I’m there.
View more commentsThere aren’t many but you can try Joyful Journey: https://www.accessible-japan.com/travel-agents/specialty-service/joyful-journey/
It could be expensive for a whole trip, but maybe less than bringing someone with you since there wouldn’t be need for flights etc.
I found this company on the accessible Japan’s website and you can hire someone to assist you while you’re in Japan. https://www.accessible-japan.com/taxis/featured/welhire/ I sent them a request from the website and the replied quickly.

Taxi Information
Hi – I am a new member planning to travel to Tokyo and Kyoto in November with a foldable electric wheelchair. I will need a taxi to get around. Here are my questions.
How do I book a cab?
Can I expect the cab driver to put my folded chair into the trunk?
Do I need a special cab?
Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I run a taxi company in the Kansai region that specializes in wheelchairs. What type of wheelchair do you have? Electric? Or manual? Of course, you can use a regular taxi, but if you have an electric wheelchair, you will need to use a vehicle like ours. Could you please tell me more about yourself?
Thank you.

Tokyo Disney/DisneySea disabled tickets
Hi all!
Is there some trick to buying the discounted disabled tickets from the Tokyo Disney website? I have an account, but no matter what I do, the process errors out right at the end. I would appreciate any tips you might have if you have been successful in buying the discounted tickets.
View more commentsI think it is able to purchase disabled ticket.

1Hello Pao,
I am able to get through all of the pages you shared here. It errors out right at the end, after all of those pages, as the payment should go through. It would be helpful to hear from someone using a foreign credit card to pay for the tickets, as the error codes I am seeing seem to be for this reason.

Airport via Narita Express or Keisei and train to Kyoto
We’re traveling as a family of 3 in a couple weeks. I’m bringing my Whill C2 electric wheelchair, but my other two family members are ambulatory. We’re landing in Narita. I’ve read conflicting information– that I need to reserve a seat in advance and that it’s better to just wait to get a seat/ticket on either the Narita Express or Keisei when…
Hello ☺️
There are two types of wheelchair seats on the Shinkansen: those that allow you to remain in your wheelchair, and those that allow you to transfer from your wheelchair to a regular seat. The former is more of a “space reservation” than a “seat.” The latter not only reserves a space, but also allows you to use the seat next to you as… Read more1- View 4 replies
I think you do need reservations for Narita Express or Keisei SkyLiner. But there are also regular express trains that you can just get on. So, while waiting for another answer, at least be reassured you will have an option no matter what.
