Belize
Posted by Ean Price on October 4, 2022 at 5:07 pmHi everyone!
Has anyone here travel to Belize? I use a power wheelchair and would appreciate any travel information.
Thanks, Ean

Hi Ean,
Looking for info on accessibility in Belize, I found this article of someone who was there with some details on accessibility (it has quotes from other sources, so they may be useful). Maybe you’ve already seen it, but just in case:

I also did a quick search in Spanish, but I couldn’t find anything.
Anyway, let us know if you decide to go : )
Thank you Joan! That is a wonderful article.
Wow, so little!

But I don’t think you are much of a guided tour guy, are you?
Are you struggling more with accommodations, transportation or things to do right now?
I know! Very limited information online. At this point, any information would be helpful.
You are correct… Guided tours are not preferred.
We’re now thinking about staying in Bacalar or Chetumal (Southern Mexico) and driving across the border to possibly Corzal, Belize. Even for a day trip to explore!
Not directly travel related but you might want to try reaching out to a disability organization like this one:
They could possibly help you find transportation at least. The first time I went to Okinawa an independent living center provided transportation in exchange for a donation to the organization.
Many thanks 🙏
