Wheelchair Accessible Tour of Hobbiton (Lord of the Rings)
Wheelchair Accessible Tour of Hobbiton (Lord of the Rings)
If you’re a fan of The Lord of the Rings, or simply looking for a uniquely Kiwi experience, then a visit to Hobbiton should definitely be on your New Zealand bucket list!
A tour through the Hobbiton film set takes you into the Shire from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
Hobbiton is two-hours from Auckland near Matamata.
The standard tour route isn’t accessible for wheelchair users or anyone with a physical disability as many parts are steep and uneven.
The good news is that there’s an accessible alternative! People with disability are able to take an accessible golf cart tour (at no extra cost) around Hobbiton. The best part is that you get your own tour guide and avoid the crowds!
