Visiting Japan with a Disability

    Hello,

I’m looking at travelling in October 2024, and don’t have set plans yet but would visit like to visit Tokyo, Osako, Kyoto etc. and ideally 2 weeks. My concern is though is that, I have a physical disability and use an electric wheelchair and require:

    1. A commode for showering

    2. A patient lifter to transfer in and out of my bed and wheelchair etc

    3. English speaking care worker to assist each morning

I’m not sure where I can access these or who to contact? If anyone could help or knows a travel company to help arrange, that would be great.

    Cheers

    Hello.

I am a licensed caregiver and tour conductor.

If you are visiting Kyoto or Osaka, I recommend you use Osaka as your base of operations.

Because there are accommodations that you need.

Regarding 1, is it okay if there is a shower head on the sink?

Regarding 2, it is not a problem. You can also take a bath.

Regarding 3, it may be a little difficult, but we can find it.

Are you coming to Japan alone?

Also, if you could tell us the size of your wheelchair (height, width, length, weight),

we can provide you with better information.

There are very few accommodations that you want.

You need to make a reservation early.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

    Thank you.

    Tak
