Tea ceremony for wheelchair user

Hello, I am taking my 85 year-old mother who uses a wheelchair on holiday to Japan in July. I would love for her to take part in a traditional tea ceremony but I can’t find anywhere that would accommodate a wheelchair user. She will not be able to sit on the floor although she can walk a very short distance and climb a few steps if they are not too high. We are going to Kanazawa and Kyoto. Would anyone know of a tea house that is wheelchair friendly in either of these locations? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

I’m not sure about Kanazawa but for Kyoto, you should get in touch with Camellia Tea Ceremony. One of the tea houses has a wheelchair ramp. I know they are very adaptable and could come up with a good solution for your trip!
