Seeing an AKB48 show in a wheelchair

  • Seeing an AKB48 show in a wheelchair

Posted by Accessible Japan on September 30, 2017 at 3:18 pm

    Hello,

Someone on our website (Accessible Japan) asked if it was possible to see an AKB48 show if you are a wheelchair user.

    The answer is YES.

However, there are some things you need to know in advance.

    • The tickets are sold by a lottery, so there is no guarantee you can go regardless of using a wheelchair or not.
    • The concert hall is on the top floor of Don Quijote. The store is very crowded and the elevator is hard to find. On most floors it is in the “staff only” area – so you will need to ask the staff for help
    • You can use your wheelchair in the concert hall but they ask that you come to the show early and talk with the staff.

For more questions, you can contact the company directly:

    TEL 03-5298-8648
    (Weekday 17:00 – 20:00 Weekend or holidays 12:00 – 19:30 *No fixed day off)
    MAIL [email protected]

    Enjoy the show!

Good to see they at least have an option for those with disabilities.  The theater looks very small though! https://www.akb48.co.jp/theater/seat/
