Hello, all! I´ll be travelling to Japan next month and I was wondering if there are any stores in the Tokyo or Osaka regions that are specialized in pushchairs for disabled children. I browsed around and all I could find was some medical companies in China.

    Thanks in advance!

You could maybe try Abilities. I think they have a showroom in Shinjuku.

Also, @wtj could likely help! Their daughter is in a wheelchair.

    Hello, Bruno-san!

In Japan, wheelchairs for children with disabilities are often custom-made by wheelchair suppliers who visit hospitals and build them according to doctors’ prescriptions.

Therefore, parents do not often buy wheelchairs (pushchairs) for their children in stores.

This site has a list of the latest models of children’s wheelchairs from major Japanese wheelchair manufacturers. (Our daughter also uses the one on this list)

If there are several that you are interested in, we can check (for free) with the manufacturer to see if you can buy it in the store or if it can be custom made.
