Hello, I am a teacher who will be traveling to Japan in June 2019 with a group of students. The focus of our course is disability, barrier-free design, and culture. We would love to connect our students with someone from Accessible Japan or work closely with Accessible Japan to identify an area for our students to audit while we are in Japan. A focus of our course will be looking at limitations of barrier free design either in its ideology or in its implementation. The students will be helping us to implement/explore human centered design elements on our home campus. My co-teachers and I will be visiting Tokyo this June 1-6th to begin to make connections and explore the city. Would someone active with Accessible Japan be willing/interested in meeting with us for tea or a meal (on us) to talk about potential partnerships?

We will be planning our trip also knowing that many of our students make be students with a variety of disabilities themselves.
