    Hi, my 30 year old daughter is excited to travel to Japan in October but is finding it hard to find a hotel that has an accessible bathroom. She will be traveling with a support person and is a full time wheelchair user. And of course does not have a huge budget.

    @Jackie Hi Jackie-san,

    I can imagine your daughter is looking forward to the travel!

    By “an accessible bathroom”, do you mean a roll-in shower like the one in the photo?

    She can use a shower chair to take a shower.

    You may refer to this website.

    And some accessible rooms in Japanese hotels can be booked via the web, while others can only be booked by telephone.

    If you need help, we can arrange hotels those suit your daughter’s needs (at regular hotel prices), so please feel free to ask us!

    The Hamacho hotel has an accessible bathroom (room 617). We were there a couple of weeks ago. It’s 10 minutes on level ground from the metro station (Suitengumae, Z10) and the Tokyo City Air Terminal. There’s a good 24 hour supermarket opposite and a bakery (Boulangerie Django) who do excellent croissants and pastries a few yards away.

    The Hotel chain Toyota-Inn has wheelchair accessible ‘Heartfelt rooms’. They are everywhere all over Japan
