Hi Linda,
Hundred Stay in TokyoIt is a walking distance to Shin-Okubo which is a famous Korean Town in Tokyo. It is not a high brand area but is an interesting district for tourists. As the buildings are generally not build quite recently, I assume a lot of the shops and restaurants are not accessible.
22 Pieces in Kyoto:
It is close to Kyoto Station in which you have a lot of shops and restaurants.https://www.kyoto-station-building.co.jp/lp/english/
Toji Temple, one of the World Heritage Sites of Kyoto is walking distance. It is also a good train connection to Fushimi Inari Shrine where you have hundreds of torii gates.
