Road Trip Through Ireland

In researching travel to Ireland, we found information about activities in Dublin and some accessible tours and group trips.  We prefer to plan our own destinations and see the open countryside.  With a rented wheelchair accessible vehicle we were able to explore a wide variety of sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  Such an amazingly beautiful island!  Attached are links to my blog and podcast about this trip. I hope that you find it enjoyable and informative!

Looks beautiful!  Do you have any pictures of the accessible van you rented?

Yes. It was a Volkswagen Caddy.  The back opens and a ramp comes out.  It worked well for me because I can transfer to the front passenger seat easily.  But it is small with a low ceiling and would not be good for anyone who has to stay in their chair

That looks great – thanks for sharing!

Hope it wasn’t difficult driving on the opposite side of the road!

My husband adjusted to that pretty quickly. Thank goodness. Driving on the”wrong side” would have made me unsettled, at best!Grin
