Flying with litium battery powered gear – your experiences
Hi, my name’s Mary, and I’m writing and article on the realities of traveling with lithium battery powered chairs and mobility aids. I’m mainly focusing on New Zealand, but it would be great to hear from any of you and your experiences!
I’m particularly interested in hearing about what airlines have been easier or more difficult to work with, like for example an airline who deals with lithium powered chairs and mobility aids at check vs one that requires preapproval by emailing a specific representative a week before the flight, etc. I’m also interested in peoples’ experiences with what different airlines class as mobility aids – they won’t let electric bikes on the plane, has anyone had any issues with powered handbikes?
Thank you,
Mary
