Green Island Resort accessibility

    Hi,

I was watching a show about tropical getaways recently and they showed Green Island Resort in Australia – a small island on the Great Barrier Reef outside of Cairns.

While the hotel wasn’t appealing to me (on an island but not ocean view??), it could make for a fun day trip…

The hotel apparently does have one accessible room.

However, getting there may be an issue:

Great Adventures catamarans for island transfers: The boarding ramp gangways are able to accommodate standard sized wheelchairs, however larger motorised wheelchairs may not be able to be accommodated. Depending on tides and weather conditions, gangways from the vessel to the jetty are sometimes too small for a wheelchair and will at times have a few steps from the end of the gangway to the jetty.

If anyone has been, please do share your experience!
