    Hello,

I am wondering what the best wheelchair accessible hotels are in Bali.  Top on my list is Ayana Resort… anyone know how accessible it is?

    Thanks!

Thank you for using the forum!  Maybe @accessibleindonesia can help?  They run accessible tours in Bali as well so they may know.

Hi! Hard to say which is the best. Most of the expensive resorts on Bali have one or several wheelchair accessible rooms and are fairly accessible on their premises. We from AccessibleIndonesia didn’t check them all, because they are really on the upper end of prices and rather exclusive. We prefer smaller hotels where our guests can get into contact with Bali life. This doesn’t mean these resorts aren’t good in terms of access and services!

There are 4 fully accessible beautiful Villas on Bali (one in Sanur and 3 in Canggu, west side of Denpasar).

Less expensive hotels with wheelchair adapted rooms are for example Ibis hotels, and Gardenia in Sanur.

And there are a number of hotels that don’t have special wheelchair adapted rooms but their rooms are wheelchair-friendly although not in line with European / American standards.

    Greetings, Kerstin (AccessibleIndonesia)

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply @AccessibleIndonesia. Do you have more information on the accessible villas?  Are they on the ocean? (It would be nice to see the ocean from the room.)

Do you have links to them?

    Thanks!

    hi Mr Tiesto,

the villas are not directly at the beach. The ocean is in view for one of the villas called Angin Sepoi (you can google them).

Villa G is in Sanur (east side of Denpasar) and in easy walking distance to the beach.

Angin Sepoi is also in walking distance.

Maso Christian and Villa Sunset View are on google map a 10-minute drive by car from the beach, but in reality traffic can make the trip a lot longer, in times.

All 4 villas have accessible swimming pools on their premises (ramps, and in Villa G a hoist)

Angin Sepoi looks great (http://www.anginsepoi.com/english/universaldesign.php)!  Thank you!

I saw a neat wheelchair on your website (http://www.accessibleindonesia.org/bali-day-trips/).  Is that special beach wheelchair?  Do you own it or does it belong to the beach?

    Thanks!

That is great!  How much do you charge to rent it for one day?

The rent is 950,000 IDR per day (6 hours), which is at current rates 68 USD. The price includes an assistant to bring the beach wheelchair to the hotel or beach and helps with any pushing etc.
