Are you ready to join the tabifolk community and get the best accessible travel information and guidance?

If you’re reading this, then chances are good that either you or someone you know has a disability and is interested in traveling. Needless to say, traveling with said disability can be complicated at times, and with a sparse deluge of information available on the internet, it can be tricky to gather everything you need to make your travels less problematic and stressful. That’s where we, tabifolk, step (or wheel) in. Finding accurate and reliable information can often be the biggest hurdle we face when planning a trip – so why not join our community and share your questions, concerns, and thoughts with us? You’re likely to find someone in the same boat as you, who may have answers that help you along your way!
What is tabifolk?
tabifolk is an online community dedicated to accessible travel. It’s a space where travelers with disabilities, their companions, and accessibility-conscious explorers can connect, share experiences, and get answers to their most pressing travel questions. Instead of relying on scattered or outdated information, you can ask directly about accessibility at your destination and share insights on places you know – particularly the area of our vast world that you live in, through our concierge initiative, but more on that later!
Here’s what you can do on tabifolk:
- Join groups focused on different accessibility topics and regions.
- Share travel news, photos, videos, and tips with like-minded individuals.
- Share travel blogs to document your experiences and help others.
- Meet members from around the world and build connections and lasting friendships.
- Earn points for your activity and contributions within the community.
There’s no focusing on a specific type of access need here at tabifolk, so whether you use a wheelchair, have a hidden disability, are a senior traveler, or just starting out on your accessible travel journey, you are more than welcome in our community.
Furthermore, even if you’re not a traveler per say, but are interested in the topic of accessible tourism, you can also join our community and learn more about what makes tourism and travel accessible to all, whilst lending a helping hand along the way too as an ally!
Businesses and organizations operating within the accessible travel industry are also encouraged to join and particiupate, helping people find the resources that they need, whilst connecting said businesses with their target audience. In line with this, if you are a business owner and would like to advertise with us, either on our website or in our monthly newsletter, please get in touch via social media – just search for ‘tabifolk’.

There’s also an abundance of region-specific groups, in which you can opt to become a local concierge. Let’s talk about that more, shall we?
Become a local concierge
Each region-specific group on tabifolk is a space for travelers to ask location-specific accessibility questions. By joining the group that represents your country or region, you can become a Local Concierge: a go-to resource for travelers looking for information about your area. If you know the answer to a question, jump in and help! This strengthens the community, spreads knowledge, and makes using tabifolk even more effective for accessible travelers worldwide. The more local concierges we have in various countries, the more active and impactful our community will be.
