My girlfriend and I will come to Japan in a couple of days and we’ll travel the country for 4 weeks. In fact we’re just on the way to Seoul which is our stopover until Friday. I’m so excited and absolutely look forward to the journey. We’ll arrive in Tokyo and after some days we’ll head on to Nikko, Aonimori, Kanazawa and Kyoto for two to three days each before we go to our final destination Osaka to see the EXPO. Anyone interested in meeting up with us while we’re in Japan? And we might have some practical questions once we’re there even if most things are already organized (hotels and trains are booked). For example I wonder where to best get adult diapers. Such kind of things…

One thing comes into my mind. We’re thinking about what to do with some parts of our luggage as we already have a lot to carry and some of the stuff we don’t actually need with us all the time. For example I have a special pillow which I only need on the plane. Or we have a spare breathing machine in case the first one breaks. Importing it from Germany by post is far too difficult and would take several weeks. We had that problem once in Mexico and learned the hard way so now we always take two devices with us when we travel in foreign countries. However, actually we don’t need it with us all the time. It would be enough if it could be sent to us by domestic post or courier overnight in the unlikely event that the primary device fails. I was thinking maybe we can post the pillow directly to the last destination and for the breathing machine Maybe know someone who could keep it and send it to us if we really need it or to the last hotel if we don’t need it. It’s actually not big or heavy (more like a carry-on hand bag) but every item which we don’t have to carry when we travel between cities helps. If you have any idea about this let me know.

You could use courier (TaQbin) and have it shipped from hotel to hotel.

As Mark-san said, there are many services in Japan that send packages from a fixed location to a fixed location, such as TA-Q-BIN, but I don’t know of any that allow you to change the destination depending on the situation… (Does anyone know?)
But it would certainly be good to have such a service, I empathise with that.If no-one is doing it, we can create that service for you!

Regarding adult diapers, you can buy them at larger pharmacies, but there may not be many such stores in central Tokyo.One idea is to order them from Amazon Japan and have them sent to your hotel, so you can be sure to get the products you like.
