In fact, there are approximately 10 accessible beaches, a testament to the efforts of organizations like CONADIS. A friend of mine, an architect at CONADIS, has been instrumental in designing and implementing these accessible beach facilities. It would be fantastic if tourists could experience the beauty of both Costa Rica and Panama in a single trip.
Panama, too, is striving to become an accessible travel destination. While we don’t currently have accessible beaches, we’ve successfully taken tourists to the crystal-clear waters of Portobelo on the Caribbean coast.1
