I wish more small airports had these!

Aviramp delivers tools for Paris ParalympiansÂ
UK-based Aviramp has provided four accessible ramps to Paris Charles de Gaulle ahead of the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
TravelLover, alliejay and Mak8 CommentsIt seems that even the ones that do don’t advertise it enough! I just found this video (from a Google maps post) that shows this feature in Aspen CO (small airport in USA).
i would love to see this sort of thing in the accessibility section of the site.
2It would help make flying with a disability more affordable as well since often the LCC are cheap because they don’t use the gate and only had stairs which lead me, anyway, to avoid them…
@Josh Grisdale Should I admit how long it took me to work out what LCC stands for? 🤣
it’s so easy for people to forget how many would benefit from a simple solution such as this. It’s not just for wheelchair users but also for aging passengers or anyone with balance issues which are so much more common than anyone seems to realize. My mother has vertigo and hates those airplane stairs!
1@alliejay Hahaha, I totally understand – took me forever to remember the term and always need to try to remember if it is LLC or LCC by expanding it in my head 😅
Also, excellent points. It always scares me just watching people use them.
1My apologies but I also do not know what LCC exactly stands for. I guess it has to do with these ramps to enter the aircraft. Many thanks for your explanation.
Talking about ramps and getting into the airplane. In January we travelled to Cartagena in Colombia. The airport has no finger docks and the planes stop on the open tarmac. Even though they knew I was travelling on the airplane with my wheelchair they had no ramp and/or lift up to the plane. The only alternative after a lengthy discussion with the ground staff and the cabin staff was to carry me up a steep ladder with about 20 steps. Glad I made it without being dropped – quite a nightmare after a wonderful holiday 😮1
Josh I agree with you, I hate it when I have to wait until all the other passengers have disembarked😠
