Hello hello from Brussels, I am Eleonora and I run a company that does accessible travel marketing and projects and hopefully lots of nice things after the flippin’ pandemic years.
Since our super-mega host @joshgrisdale has kindly made me an ambassador of the Belgium group, I’d like to invite you to join the group if :
you are thinking of visiting this tiny but pretty cool country or if
you live here or if
you have visited already and want to share tips like my friend @kamil – who is one of the people I know who most loves this country by the way
Join in to share photos also! thinking of launching a photo competition for the most kitch Belgian pic or any accessibility fails (of which we see a few everyday).
here is the group https://www.tabifolk.com/groups/belgium/
have yourself a great day wherever you are tabifolk-ers

Ohayo Travel and Josh Grisdale8 CommentsYes, but much much more too! But yes, in Belgium drinking beer is the experience, and they are all different and super high quality. If you don’t drink beer though, my advice is never order a wine glass in a café, it most probably comes from a box! Just a warning. In a restaurant it’s already better 🙂
Great! I’ve just joined the group. I’ve been to Brussels 3 times and loved the city though accessibility is really shady (some sidewalks are a nightmare, lots of cobblestone and many shops and restaurants with not just one, but two or three steps at the entrance)… I’ll probably be doing Brussels as an episode to @troublewithme podcast, so, if it’s ok, I’’d contact you to get all facts right : )
Lovely! Would love to see some pictures from your trips if you have any available! Belgium is a country that people don’t really think about as a holiday destination but it has it’s own beauty. And yes, mostly accessibility sucks but it is improving and there are good tips to share
I’ll try to fish for some pictures when I prepare the episode on Brussels. If I find any that’s worth it, I’ll share it on the group. The last couple of times that I went (in 2019), it was mostly for work, so I didn’t take many and the time before it was in 2011 and my cellphone camera sucked at the time…
Despite that, I can vouch for its beauty! Brussels and other cities in Belgium are a wonderful sight : )
You know, I think Brussels is really an acquired taste, I did a short stint as a tour guide during my first year here, and people did not have any expectations whatsoever, but when you showed them hidden corners and the many quirky things you can find – if you know where – they got to enjoy themselves… An acquired taste, definitively, that needs a local to get you to hidden corners.
As promised, here are some picks that I found while preparing the review of Brussels for @troublewithme podcast. I didn’t take many, so these are the best that I could find…
