Meet Ama divers (less than 100 per generation) during a free online event in Mie prefecture: ancient traditions, work, daily life, etc. Cheer the locals up and ask questions in English during the live on Saturday or just watch the replay later, with the same link. Organized by Japan Travel KK:

I didn’t stay long because family wanted to see other things, so I’m looking forward to this so I can learn more about the divers and their traditions!
Hah, I wanted to buy a sword or two from there myself, but assumed if any were for sell they be outrageously priced. The couple Katana I have bought were usually from the Florida flea market, which look nice but not actually made in Japan.
@sebastienplus will it be possible to ask questions in advance (for people in different time zones)?
Good question, Josh! We have no system in place for that but I’ll suggest to my team for future tours. For this specific tour in just two days, the best would be to input the questions in the YouTube chat of the video. The chat is already active so it’s possible. I see that somebody already typed “yay cant wait” 🙂 Questions preferred in English but we can at least handle Japanese and French this time.
Wasn’t able to catch it live, but I just finished watching the recording. All of you were really thorough, many great questions, very cool! I learned a few things and will definitely have to consider getting some seafood there in the future. Thanks for sharing this!
