After sharing the video of the automatic ramp for getting over train gaps shared by @kamil , I was surprised to see an article saying it wasn’t a good idea… what do you think?

Can a smart ramp solve transport's accessibility problem?
A Japanese rail company is trialling an automatic ramp that helps wheelchair users get on trains independently. But is it a long-term solution to a major problem?
pieterghijsels4 Comments(Personally, while ideally there would be no gap, I still think it is a good temporary measure.)
Indeed, why wait for perfection forever if you can start with a temporary fix? Unfortunately, in many countries, autonomous use of public transport is still a far dream.
What worries me a bit (but possibly due to the journalist’s take on the matter) is that the smart ramp is presented as a disability-specific tool, as something “extra”. In my opinion, it would be wiser to narrow the gap for everybody, as a standard improvement.
