Airbnb improves accessibility search filters for its accommodations
Airbnb has made its accessibility filters more specific.
3 CommentsFrom running an accessible bnb, we get a lot of guests who ask additional questions about how accessible our cabin really is (even though we have a lot of it described in detail) and we also get comments afterwards about how it really is accessible. Discussing this with some of them we’ve found that there’s apparently a lot of people hosting and saying they are accessible only for the guests to arrive and find that it really isn’t at all. So, I imagine this is driving some of this shift in properly filtering accommodations, a good change to see.
I still have never tried a rental out of those fears (host’s description not meeting reality…)
I hear you, I’d be scrutinizing the pictures (which is why we provide many on ours) and definitely contacting them prior to booking and asking detailed questions too. Haha, plus we have an aluminum ramp we’d consider bringing just in case.
