  • Simple one today folks: How accessible is your town? Tell us below where you’re from and how the access is there!

Bonus points if it’s a part of the world not many have heard of before.

    • Not bad. The run-up to Tokyo’s Olympics and Paralympics helped speed up change and Tokyo’s public transportation is great. Unfortunately, small restaurants etc are still a challenge…

      • I’m from London UK and although not everywhere is accessible most places are and if they aren’t most do try to provide with ramps, etc. to get into the venues. I know that London hosted a very successful Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 so that has certainly helped push the accessibility in the minds of place’s owners

    • I went to Takaosan yesterday day and stopped for soba at one of the rest stops. Just I was thinking “gee this table is low…” a staff member brought over a tin box and asked “will putting this under the tray help?”

I love meeting people who are thoughtful and also creative.

      • I once visited a model rail road museum and the displays were too high for my wheelchair. A staff member came by and handed me a mirror they keep for “wheel friends” of the museum. I absolutely loved that!
