American Airlines said its new luggage tag for wheelchairs would improve the disabled passenger experience, but there is no evidence of that.

This is what I meant in my other comment. I am currently in Frankfurt airport (layover). Despite THREE tags on my chair it took 3 people to figure out that I needed the chair with me for my five hour layover. All the tags in the world can’t replace good coordination with ground crew and services.

Hi i am going to Osaka in September. I have minor walking disability and my aging parents.
1. I will get wheelchair once i landed
2. Want to know where can i get helped with Lifting Luggage into to trolley to take me to see the Local driver i hired.3. There are many third party agent e.g. Airassist….. which caused almost 700USD. Are they fraud?

I think the airport staff will help you take your baggage off the turntable and put it on a trolley at the airport.
From there to the driver…why not just have the driver come to the gate to pick you up?

I think everyone covered it pretty much, but essentially airline/airport staff will see you through most of the process (getting your wheelchair, getting bags, getting to customs) if you need it. I have had staff help put stuff on a trolley but I’m not sure I can say they will *for sure*. If you have a driver, they usually meet you after you…

Interesting, they behaved appallingly in the UK, recently – so this only seems to apply in the US.

I really do hope they improve this. Key to success seems to be integration with the ground crew. It seems that’s where all the great efforts to streamline either succeed or fail. 🫤

Would you know of any Gyukatsu Motomura branches that do not require the use of staircases to be seated and eat? Thanks!

The one in Coredo looks accessible (never been, but from pictures). The shopping center is new, so there are accessible toilets etc as well.

I’ve invited friends to tea either this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon, I’ll also try to watch as much of the Olympics as I can as I have the daughter of friends of mine from South Africa performing in the Rock Climbing (which is being held for the first time this Olympics😀)
